Panagiotis Liapis has graduated from the Department of Economics of the Athens University of Economics and Business (formerly ASOEE) and holds an MSc in Maritime studies of the University of Piraeus, specializing in International Transport.
He has born in Piraeus in 1975.He graduated from the Lycée Léonin in 1993, a francophone non-profit private school and has been an active member of the Alumni Association since then. He holds the Diplôme D'études Françaises (Sorbonne II) and the Proficiency in English both from Cambridge and Michigan Universities.
He served in the Greek Army as a Cadet Officer where he served as a Controller of Expenditures from 1999 to 2001 when he has been dismissed with a recommendation letter for the quality of his services by his Chief commanding officer. Since 2001, he has been occupied in a private consulting firm as an economist, part of a study group responsible for data collection/processing and the preparation of cost benefit analysis studies in the Transport Sector.
Then, in 2004 he started his career in the Hellenic Institute of Transport, as an assisting financial officer on project monitoring and coordination in FP6 research projects, until 2008. At the same time, he attended the Post Graduate program in Maritime studies of the University of Piraeus where he graduated in 2007 as top in his class. He regained his position in the Hellenic Institute of Transport in 2014, after being occupied in several private companies in the insurance and car repairing sector, specializing in traffic accident compensation claims
Since then, he is in charge of the financial and administrative monitoring of FP7 research projects and participates in the preparation and submission of H2020 project proposals.
