Eleni Chalkia is a civil engineer with expertise in transportation systems. She holds an MSc in “Design, Organisation, and Management of systems of means of transport” and works in the domain of transport for the last 10 years. In particular she is working in the Institute of Transport, under the umbrella of CERTH (Center of Research and Technology Hellas) in the domain related to the driver and the vehicle technologies. She has an extensive experience in research projects and holds excellent management skills, as she has participated in more than 15 research project, either with minor or with managerial role (i.e. SP leader in IPs, WP leader, Evaluation manager, Ethics manager). Eleni has very broad expertise. The main domains she has worked upon are road safety, ITS, accessible design, evaluation planning and testing, children transportation to and from school, ICT, people with disabilities, accessible and personalized interfaces, discrete choice modelling. Her expertise is also emerging from the number of papers she has published already, related to all the aforementioned domains the number of which reaches 25 publications. At the moment she is a PhD candidate in the National Technical University of Athens, School of civil engineers, in the department of Transportation Planning and Engineering.
