Mr. Vassilis Mizaras was born in 1970 in Thessaloniki and received his Civil Engineering degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He holds a Postgraduate Course in Transport from Imperial College, and a Master of Science (MSc) in Transport from the University of London.

From 1997 to 2006 he worked for the "Intelligent Transport Systems" Department of the Trans-European Group of Consultants of Thessaloniki SA. (TRUTh A.E.). He has been the Head of the Department since 1999. Since 2004 he has been the Head of the ITS & IT Consulting Department of the Trans-European Transport, Development and IT Consulting Company (TREDIT A.E.).

He was expert associate partner with AUTH and the Telecommunications Institute of the SE. Europe (INA) with respect to smart card technologies. He has also been a seminar lecturer on intelligent transport systems.

From 2006 to 2017 he has been the Managing Director of the company “Intelligent Traffic Software and Applications - INFO TRIP SA”. From July 2017 to October 2018 he has been the Managing Director of SWARCO HELLAS SA. which merged with INFO TRIP A.E. Since January 2019 he has been working as Senior Project Manager at EKETA's Institute of Sustainable Mobility.

His experience has been gained through participation in development and deployment projects of intelligent transport systems as well as design studies of Intelligent Transport Systems & Operational Plans for the adoption of innovative applications by Transportation related Companies. His general experience is in Intelligent Transport Systems with a focus on Traffic Management, C-ITS, Mobility as a Service, Passenger Information Applications, Public Transport and Electronic Payment Systems

Vasilis Mizaras has also participated in CEN / ISSS working groups on standardization of intelligent transport systems, the Greek e-business forum (Rapporteur of the Intelligent Transport Working Group) and e-Europe (smart cards charter). V. Mizaras has served as a member of the ITS HELLAS Hellenic Organization for Intelligent Transport.
