Mr. Dimitrios Tzanis was born in Thessaloniki in 1996 and holds a diploma in Rural and Surveying Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.) and a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence at the Department of Informatics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.). He works as a Research Associate at the Hellenic Institute of Transport of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (HIT-CERTH) from 2018 up until now.
His main research activities are related to Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), Co-operative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS), simulation of traffic conditions with the use of microscopic simulation software (SUMO) and development of algorithms with the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques. Since the beginning of his work at CERTH – HIT, he has participated in various transport-related projects funded both from European and National funding mechanisms. He has also participated, as an author, in the writing of scientific papers in the fields of Intelligent Transport Systems, Co-operative Intelligent Transport System, analysis and simulation of traffic conditions. His research interests and expertise include, among others, Intelligent Transport Systems, Co-operative Intelligent Transport Systems, Data Collection and Analysis, Transport Design, Transport Economics and development of algorithms.
