Charis Chalkiadakis has been working as a Research Associate at the Hellenic Institute of Transport of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas since 2017. He holds a diploma (MEng) from the School of Rural and Surveying Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) and he is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Traffic Engineering Laboratory of the Scholl of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) since 2018. His main research activity focuses on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) and their applications towards the Resilience of the transport networks. Since joining HIT, he has been involved in various transport-related projects funded both from European and National funding mechanisms. He has also participated, as an author, in the writing of scientific papers in the fields of Intelligent Transport Systems, Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems, and Transport Networks’ Resilience. His research interests and expertise include, among others, Intelligent Transport Systems, Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems, Resilience of the transport systems, Data Collection and Analysis, Transport Planning, Traffic Modelling, and Transport economics.
