Olga Maria Giannakari was born and raised in Thessaloniki and she holds a Diploma from the Department of Civil Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
She is working at the Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT) since November, 2019. Her main fields of interest are focusing on road safety, accessibility to transportation for disabled people, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), autonomous vehicles and telematic applications for transport.
She has been involved with Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) for cities of Cyprus and Greece, during the design phase and the collection of traffic data.
Furthermore, she has worked as a caretaker for disabled people, both privately, and during summer camps.
She is fluent in English and has basic knowledge of the Russian language. Also, she has acquired programming skills during her thesis analysis.
