Michalis Mathioulakis is an Energy Strategy Analyst. He is the Academic Director of the Greek Energy Forum, a Research Associate at the Institute of International, European and Defence Analyses of the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, and a Research Associate at the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy in Athens responsible for energy sector analyses.

He has substantial working experience in the financial sector as a broker and analyst and the private education sector as a lecturer of Finance and Risk Analysis in Executive MBA programs. He has been Research Director of the Hellenic Energy Regulation Institute responsible for research related to energy regulatory issues and currently he is providing consulting services in energy strategy and energy regulation for law and consulting firms assosiated with the energy sector.

He holds an MSc in Energy Strategy, Law & Economics from the University of Piraeus, an MSc in Strategic Studies from the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, a BA in Economics, and a BA in Political Science. He is currently a PhD Candidate with the Department of International Studies in the University of Macedonia. His research focuses on the correlation between International Relations and Energy Security.
