
Thomai Baltzi is a graduate of the Department of Political Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and graduated in 2018. She attended the interdisciplinary postgraduate program of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, entitled "Tourism and Local Development" with specialization in "Sustainable and Cultural Tourism" in 2018-2020. She is currently a PhD Candidate in the Department of Journalism and Media, on the Social Construction of Sustainability with a case study of Tourism in Greece. So far, she has participated in a number of research projects (national and European) mainly on issues related to Sustainable Development, Sustainability at local level, Innovation and Education. Her particular interests include sustainable development with sustainable tourism as the main focus but also the investigation of the effectiveness of innovative techniques and tools in the diptych of Sustainable Tourism - Communication for Sustainable Development. In recent years, it has been involved in the creation of cultural routes with a central focus on enhancing visitors' use of alternative means of transport, such as walking, cycling and public transport.
