The Hellenic Institute of Transport has successfully participated in the "International Seminar on Roads, Bridges and Tunnels - ISRBT 2018: Challenges and innovation" hosted at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki on November 9-15, 2018, presenting the equipment, research infrastructure, as well as key research projects.

Within the context of his opening speech "Shifting intelligence from vehicle to infrastructure: the SAFE STRIP approach", the Director of HIT, Dr. Evangelos Bekiaris presented the innovations of SAFE STRIP project, describing its disruptive technology, addressed to all kinds of road users and applicable to all kinds of vehicles, with a cost efficiency ratio of a magnitude that is better than the current C-ITS applications.                                                                      

The Opening speech was then followed by question and answers session, and concluded with a promise to present the pilot demonstration results from the application of SAFE STRIP in Greek and Italian motorways within ISRBT 2019.
