On January 29th and 30rd, the Hellenic Institute of Transport of the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas will host in Thessaloniki the Consortium meeting of the internationals partners within the framework of the European project SAFER-LC.
SAFER-LC aims to improve safety and minimize risk by developing a fully-integrated cross-modal set of innovative solutions and tools for the proactive management and design of level-crossing infrastructure.
One of the main topics of the meeting will be the assessment of the “HF Assessment Tool” developed for determining the needs and the requirements of rail infrastructure operators and users. Furthermore, data from the pilot tests that are currently being deployed will be presented. HIT team will be the first team to demonstrate Thessaloniki’s pilot in real time conditions. Consortium members will have the opportunity to be transferred to one of the LCs examined and test the mobile application which provides real-time data about trains’ estimated time of arrival when approaching the LC.
SAFER-LC also organized the second clustering meeting with SAFE-10-T and SAFE STRIP related EU projects supported by the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) in the framework of Horizon 2020, to discuss complementary activities and project results and look into common dissemination and exploitation possibilities.
