The inaugural meeting of the National Council of Research, Technology and Innovation took place on December 10th 2019, with the presence of Prime Minister, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
During his speech, Mr. Mitsotakis pointed out that for the first time, innovation plays an equal role within the Research and Technology Secretariat, stressing that this Council will monitor national, European and international developments in the field of research and innovation.
The recently established Council is the supreme entity that develops the national strategy for research, technology and innovation. One of the 11 members of the Council is Dr. E. Bekiaris, the Director of HIT/CERTH. The main objective of the Council is to provide a comprehensive view of research and innovation, as well as the ability to transfer the results to society through innovative and sustainable solutions and products.
