Vision:
To make HIT the main and integrated Research Pole in the fields of Transport, Sustainable Mobility and Tourism in Greece and among the top 10 relevant nodes of technology and expertise in Europe.

HIT/CERTH has been defined by its growth and project development in the past 4 years, as presented during the ceremony of cutting the traditional Vasilopita on Friday, February 21, at its premises in Thermi, Thessaloniki. The ceremony was attended by the Director of the Prime Minister's Office in Thessaloniki and a former member of the New Democracy party, Ms Maria Antoniou.

Ms. Antoniou was invited to a tour through the premises and research infrastructure of HIT/CERTH. In her brief welcome note to the personnel of the Institute, Ms. Antoniou emphasized how impressed she was by the research infrastructure, as well as the wide range of services that HIT provides to citizens and the society. At the same time, she highlighted the full support of the Government to “move forward together in the field of research and its application in our daily lives”.

The Director of HIT Dr. E. Bekiaris emphasized in his speech the successful development of the Institute over the last 4 years, with twice the number of employees and the increase in the budget. Simultaneously, Dr. Bekiaris outlined the main goals he hopes to achieve in case he is re-elected for a second term as Director of the Institute.
