Acronym: Escalator
Project Title: Development of an Intelligent Cloud application for the dynamic prediction of order fulfilment time at supply chain level
Duration: 39 months (10/2021 – 02/2025)
Description: The Escalator project develops and introduces an innovative service that provides dynamic estimation of order fulfilment time at various levels of the supply chain using artificial intelligence algorithms. The service collects and processes historical delay data from different levels of the supply chains in the Region of Central Macedonia. Using these algorithms, the service estimates the time required to fulfil orders.
This information is drawn from the Entersoft WMS and used to predict delivery time for each order. The service will be tested with selected customers of Entersoft under the scientific and technical guidance of CERTH/ HIT, which developed the relevant algorithms.
Objectives: The goal of the project is to introduce a new innovative service and transfer knowledge to:
• Dynamically predict order fulfilment time using historical data and dynamic forecasts at previous supply chain levels.
• Dynamically monitor the estimated fulfilment time at all levels of the supply chain.
The project is implemented under the “Investment Innovation Plans” Action of the Operational Program of the Region of Central Macedonia 2014-2020 With the co-financing of Greece and the European Union (code: KMR6-0279494).
HIT key role and responsibilities: HIT is the technical coordinator and scientific lead of the project. HIT participates in all project activities, with primary responsibilities including the identification of user needs and key sources of delay. Additionally, HIT is responsible for developing the machine learning algorithms for predicting order fulfilment time and integrating them into Entersoft’s tools.
