1.1 Increase transnational activity of innovative clusters and networks of key sectors of the MED area

The “green mind” project transnational challenge is the development of economic competitiveness & innovation in the green & smart mobility industry, by strengthening regional & transnational cooperation between businesses, research bodies and authorities. The green & smart mobility industry is an innovation sector of the MED area; it is developing fast due to technological development, but also to stricter environmental policies. “green mind” has the objective to strengthen the transnational activities of clusters and agencies to support SMEs systems in exploiting the market opportunities of the raising demand for green & smart mobility products and services.

Objectives: “green mind” is a mature project in which 8 MED territorial contexts (Ferrara, Thessaloniki, Andalusia, PACA, Istria, Sarajevo, Podravska and Split/Dalmatia) cooperate to: test new market intelligence, public funding screening, B2B matchmaking services for SMEs; build a transferable model of the tested services for clusters and agencies; set up a transnational innovation network involving authorities, business and research; implement a transfer programme targeted to clusters and agencies to foster their transnational activities; and deliver a policy support programme to mainstream the project results based on the Smart Specialisation Strategies of the involved regions. The “green mind” transnational approach lies in a joint learning, knowledge sharing and capacity building process for innovation in the MED area.
The results of the pilot actions will be the basis for creating a business model that will be easily applicable to other regions of both the Mediterranean countries and the whole Europe. Also within the project a transnational innovation network will be established that will contain SMEs, public administration and research centers. The aim of the network is to exchange knowledge and experiences on entrepreneurship and innovation issues in the field of green and smart mobility and to enhance entrepreneurship at regional level through capacity building.

Project coordinator is the SIPRO Development agency of Ferrara in Italy and the project partners are:

  • The Regional Delegation Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur et Corse in France
  • The Istrian Development Agency in Croatia
  • The Sarajevo Economic Regional Development Agency in Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • The institute eZAVOD in Slovenia
  • The County of Split-Dalmatia in Croatia
  • Region of Central Macedonia is associate partner of the project
