Description:TRI-VALUE is a project aiming at performing an ex-post evaluation of Transport Research and Innovation (TRI) activities in Europe’s most important instrument for financing research, the FP7.
The general objective of TRI-VALUE is framed as follows:
To assess the overall implementation and management, as well as the achievements and impacts of the transport research co-financed by FP7 with respect to its specific objectives, their economic, social and environmental impacts, the efficiency, effectiveness, relevance of the funding and the sustainability and utility of the different transport research programmes with the aim of outlining conclusions and providing recommendations for potential improvements of transport research and innovation in Europe.

An analysis of the specific objectives of TRI-VALUE from an operational perspective allows identifying two independent work streams:

  • The assessment and evaluation process, which will focus on activities targeting the analysis of performance and evaluation of the impacts of the activities developed in the FP7 cooperation programme Transport theme.
  • The comparison and learning process, which will address the comparison of the TRI performance in Europe with other major economies and the analysis of the results of the assessments and evaluations, with the aim of identifying best practices and areas for improvement.

Objectives: Assess to the overall implementation and management, as well as the achievements and impacts of the transport research co-financed by FP7 with respect to its specific objectives, their economic, social and environmental impacts, the efficiency, effectiveness, relevance of the funding and the sustainability and utility of the different transport research programmes with the aim of outlining conclusions and providing recommendations for potential improvements of transport research and innovation in Europe.
