Acronym: ZEV-UP
Project Title: Zero-Emission Vehicles for the Urban Passenger challenge
Duration: 42 months (01/01/2024 – 30/06/2027)
Description: ZEV-UP revolutionises the electric vehicle market by introducing a versatile, affordable vehicle family. Our modular and scalable platform features two wheelbase variants: an upgradable two-seater and a convertible four-seater, adaptable for commercial use and a sleek pickup, serving both passenger and goods transportation in different variants. ZEV-UP's innovative approach addresses the major concern of battery cost and performance. The vehicle's selling price excludes the battery cost, allowing owners to subscribe to a battery service, ensuring seamless replacement when needed. Our commitment to sustainability extends to repurposing degraded battery cells for non-critical applications, promoting a circular economy and reducing waste. With ZEV-UP, we redefine electric mobility, paving the way for a greener, more efficient, and user-centric transportation future.
Objectives: The project has the following 6 objectives:
- Market Landscape Analysis of Frugal BEVs
- Develop a modular, scalable platform and a user-centric top hat for a frugal BEV
- Develop vehicle prototypes incorporating frugal ZEV-UP technologies
- Validating ZEV-UP Prototypes through Real-World Testing and User Feedback
- Assessing User Acceptance and Performance of ZEV-UP Solutions in Diverse Markets and Usage Models
- Empowering Decision-Makers for Accelerated Market Uptake of ZEV-UP Vehicles
HIT key role and responsibilities: HIT is responsible for the Vehicles’ Demonstration (WP4 leader).
